Behaviour at Ravenswood
At our school, children learn that kindness, respect and responsibility shape every interaction. Our behaviour culture is built on teaching, modelling and celebrating positive choices — choices that reflect who we are and what we stand for.
Behaviour Policy
At Ravenswood Community Primary School, we believe that excellent behaviour and attendance are the foundations of a successful education. Our Behaviour Policy sets out a clear, consistent approach that promotes positive relationships, self‑discipline, and respect across our school community. Rooted in our core values — Be Kind, Be Bold, Be Safe, Be You — the policy ensures that every child learns in a calm, purposeful environment where kindness and responsibility guide every interaction. Through explicit teaching, modelling, and celebration of positive choices, we help pupils develop the social and emotional skills they need to thrive both in school and beyond.

Teaching behaviour
At Ravenswood, behaviour is not left to chance — it is taught, modelled and practised every day as part of our curriculum. Our four core values, Be Kind, Be Bold, Be Safe, Be You, are woven through daily assemblies, where each value is explored explicitly so children understand what it looks like, sounds like and feels like in real situations. Carefully chosen class texts deepen this learning, helping pupils see positive relationships, empathy, courage and responsibility reflected in stories and characters. Alongside this, our dedicated behaviour curriculum — including THRIVE and SEAL — teaches children how to manage emotions, build resilience, solve problems and develop respectful relationships. Through consistent routines, clear expectations and meaningful opportunities to practise valued behaviours, we ensure every child learns how to contribute positively to our school community.
Anti Bullying
At Ravenswood Community Primary School, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive environment where every child feels valued, respected, and heard. Our Anti‑Bullying Policy sets out a clear, proactive approach to preventing and addressing bullying through early intervention, open communication, and restorative support. We define bullying as targeted, repeated behaviour designed to hurt, and we act swiftly to investigate, educate, and support all pupils involved. Guided by our core values — Be Kind, Be Bold, Be Brave, Be You — we work in partnership with families to ensure that kindness and respect remain at the heart of our school community.
Celebrating behaviour
Our Values Awards
Pupils are awarded certificates when they display and demonstrate an understanding of the schools values. The aim is for the them to collect all four before recieving the 'Golden Nexus' which joins the certificates together.
Achievement Postcards
Awarded by class teachers when children demonstrate these values within their classes. Postcards are then shared with members of the Senior Leadership Team.
